Blue and White Goes Glamping!
Villa Esperanza Services Blue & White went Glamping! The glamorous camping gala was held at the home of Villa Board Member Paulette and Mark Geragos in La Cañada. Glampers, adorned in an array of apparel mixing glamorous with camp attire could be seen wearing tuxedo coat and ties with khaki shorts and hiking boots, as well as, headlamps with skirts, backpacks and boots. It all worked! Your excursion began with your professional photo, taken by Nick Boswell, next to a decked out canvas tent complete with chandelier. From there your map led you to a swanky cocktail reception where you enjoyed libations and delectable appetizers – including the infamous apple wood bacon. The Late Bloomers band along with the silent auction kept campers entertained before moving into dinner. Glamp Grub, provided by Kensington Caterers, included fish and steak with a variety of side dishes – all tasty.
The evening program, emceed by NBC4 newscaster Colleen Williams, began with awards presented to two honorees. Dr. Rick Robinson, Villa Board Member and the co-director of the Descanso Medical Center bestowed the first award to Dr. Mona Delahooke for her dedication and service as a clinical and pediatric psychologist specializing in infant and toddler development, challenging behaviors and autism. The second award, presented by Claire Bogaard, Villa Community Council for Excellence Member and First Lady of Pasadena, was given to Don Nollar, former City of Pasadena Planning Director, for his longtime commitment to Villa. After the awards, Colleen introduced NBC4 weathercaster, Fritz Coleman, who served as auctioneer and entertainer creating laughs and raising money for Villa’s programs for individuals with developmental disabiltes.
